Feminist thoughts on gender quotas, the wage gap, and guaranteed equality

Today I just felt like discussing whether feminist ideals of using government power to force an equality of results really makes any sense. If it’s equality that feminists are interested in, why aren’t they calling for equal death? 92% of workplace deaths in the U.S. are men.

death

One can take a quick look through some U.S. Department of Labor statistics and see that there are some fields that women are simply avoiding. Amongst civil and aerospace engineers women make up about only ten percent. Electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineers are staffed by about only seven percent women. Women make up about only one percent of professions such as: heavy equipment operators, electricians, and automotive mechanics. Some quick research shows that women seem to be shunning physics and engineering degrees. Perhaps it’s personal choices that are the reason for women preferring a degree in education or nursing over engineering and science fields rather than discrimination? But the narrative of personal choice doesn’t fit the progressive-feminist view of the world though. Progressives will just continue to conflate liberty with a guaranteed equality of results.

I took a quick look on the progressive website ThinkCommunist ThinkProgress where leftists were decrying the “gender wage gap” in a typical feminist manner. The author used the usual tropes such as: women make less even when they have the same degree, get paid less on their first job, and made the profound observation that women who have children make less money. The author claimed that “women get paid less in their first job than men who graduate with the same grades, majors, and choice of occupation“. The link is dead and leads to the American Association of University Women’s (AAUW) website, so I can’t verify the veracity of this claim. But I wonder if that report accounted for the number of hours worked per week?

Some other specific claims that the authors makes are “A woman makes less than a man no matter much education she gets, what job she chooses, or where she lives“. Concerning the source cited for education, the document only looks at what educational attainment was achieved and no other factors were controlled for. The number of hours worked and experience were not accounted for, just gross averages comparing the wages of all men and women with the same education received (scroll down to page 11 of the document for the applicable portion). A Bureau of Labor Statistics infographic was cited for the “job she chooses” statement. Once again, this document only controlled for a single factor, in this case, the industry chosen. Education, experience, and the number of hours worked were not considerations, just the average of all men compared to women in a field. Concerning the “where she lives” statement, the same fallacy has once again been committed. The source is a Slate article that compares the earnings of women and men by state and controls for no other factors.

Further down the line, the author claims: “While some of the wage gap can be explained by things such as work patterns, job tenure, race, and marital status, some of it just can’t be explained by different life choices or characteristics and instead is likely thanks to discrimination“. The citation for this little gem is a General Accounting Office (GAO) report concerning gender differences in pay. While the author of the ThinkProgress article may claim that discrimination may be the cause for differences in pay (and for once, his source actually controlled for more than one factor) she offers no proof to substantiate this claim. I guess I’m just supposed to take her word on this, because the GAO doesn’t offer proof that discrimination is the cause. On page six they write the following:

gao1

In other words, Ms. Covert is implying a conclusion that the data does not claim. The Factual Feminist (a.k.a Christina Hoff Sommers) wrote an interesting piece on the Huffington Post concerning the “gender wage gap” that progressives just can’t ever shut up about. This article uses data from the fine folks at the AAUW to disprove the claim that women make 77% of what men do for the same work. As it turns out, you really do have to control for relevant factors to fully understand what the data is telling you. A man who has to support a wife and several children might work a few extra hours, which would explain the extra money made by married men that ThinkProgress laments so much. Let’s hear some more fun facts about the gender pay gap from Dear Leader and Comrade Carney:

Let’s here some more thoughts on why the wage gap exists and how it’s not the way feminists portray it:

Isn't it amazing what you can do with statistics?
Isn’t it amazing what you can do with statistics?

One of the last things the ThinkProgress article goes on to decry is the fraction of working mothers who take time off work compared to working men. The author didn’t even make an attempt to look at why this might be true, the statistics simply didn’t fall in line with a guaranteed equality of results that progs demand. If men didn’t lose custody of children so much during divorce, perhaps the amount of time taken off by working fathers and mothers wouldn’t be so different?

For all of the feminists who claim that life is easier just because you’re a man, have you ever tried to live as a man does? A lesbian woman who decided to become a man for over a year turned back into a woman. Feminists certainly aren’t interested in liberty, but do they even want equality or just special privileges? Do progressives actually care about the suffering of all people equally? Or is it just special interest groups, votes, and power that matter to socialists/feminists/progressives?

What’s Martin O’ Malley sorry about?

Hopeful Democratic nominee for President Martin O’ Malley is sorry that he said “all lives matter” and now realizes that such a statement is unacceptable to the Democratic Party. Comrade O’ Malley has come to the realization that all lives do not matter, only the ones the Party deems appropriate or important. O’ Malley now realizes that it’s only OK to state that black lives matter, but specifically regarding interactions with law enforcement and problems caused by “society”.  Any mention of all the murders going on in Chicago, Detroit, and Baltimore that are not committed by police or white people are not important.

Every good comrade knows (especially when going to a Nutroots convention) that all comments to the about the Party must promote racial division for the glory of the Party and that it’s really it’s the votes that matter. Anyone who disagrees with the Party narrative is a racist, bigot, sexist, homophobe, and deserves to be smeared. It’s not like O’ Malley had a chance against Shillary Billary Chillary Hillary and Sanders anyway.

For those comrades reading this who happen to be white, feel free to grovel and apologize for your existence.

Are you feeling the Bern?

Hello comrades, today I’m typing to spread the gospel of Karl Marx and Bernie Sanders throughout the world. Let it be known to all peoples and nations that Bernie Sanders is a proud socialist who isn’t afraid to shake things up and bring more change to the United States. Dear Leader Obama did fine work on converting the United States of America into the United Socialist States of America but the work is not yet complete.

Once Bernie Sanders is elected as Chairman in 2016 the Revolution will really get going and the United States will get an even better taste of what a Worker’s Paradise is like. Some glorious examples of revolutionary work would be: Greece, Venezuela (quite a fine example), Cuba (but look at those literacy rates), Rhode Island, and Detroit to name but a few socialist success stories. Proles, you must be willing to surrender your money, property, and liberty for the betterment of society. The Party demands your total loyalty in the upcoming Neo-Kulak purge and revolution. Once the government has even more centralized control over the economy and your wallet the U.S.S.A will surely turn into a true paradise.

These pictures are to be spread amongst your friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Don’t be shy, share the wonderful work being performed by the fine folks at Economic Illiterates for Bernie Sanders 2016. Enjoy!

Bernie Sanders, Jerry Seinfeld, and gun control

Alright everybody, I’ll just be posting up a few pictures to share with all of your friends and family with. As is usual, your progressive friends will find them to be the most enjoyable. Have fun!

What’s a progressive to do when choosing between Bernie Sanders and Billary Shillary Hillary Clinton?

What was Jerry Seinfeld thinking when he dared to insult our very sensitive, lighthearted, progressive, and understanding college students? How dare Mr. Seinfeld level any criticism against being politically correct!

Jokes_Not_Funny_Students

Most likely, you’ve heard about the murders in Charleston by now. But of course, Dear Leader has used this as an opportunity to clamor for more gun control legislation, without specifying what such legislation would actually contain or differ from current law. Remember, tragedies such as the murders in a church in Charleston don’t occur in otheradvanced countries“. Remember fellow progressives, the police are racist, prejudiced, and out to get you yet only the military and police should be trusted with guns

Did you support National Gun Violence Awareness Day?

Greetings comrades! It’s been a while since I’ve posted here and I figured I would talk about those typical greedy capitalists and their desires for gun ownership. Every good prole knows that only police and military personnel should have weapons, not private citizens. Even then, only national police should be trusted with weapons, not local yokels like those losers in Baltimore or Ferguson. Because if anything will improve the performance of an organization like the Ferguson Police Department, surely it will be a nationalization of local police forces. It’ll be as good as the Affordable Care Act was for healthcare prices in the United States, or forced collectivization in Ukraine.

Remember folks, only a national police force and the military can be trusted with guns. Anyone who thinks that they have the “right” to bear arms is an enemy of the State and People of the U.S.S.A and should be re-educated. Just ask any typical leftist Hollywood star that lives in a gated community with armed guards and they’ll tell you, guns are bad in the hands of ordinary citizens. Be like your betters and make sure that you wear prison orange every June 2nd.

I know that I’m a few days late on posting this, but don’t forget to spread these Party approved messages with all of your fellow proles. Enjoy!

SIGH-Some people just don’t understand permissible speech

Some of you may have recently heard about how some art critics from the Religion of Peace™ walked up to an art exhibit which blasphemously depicted the glorious Prophet Mohammad and were shot for their criticism. Obviously, it’s Pamela Geller’s fault that people died. In accordance with current media dogma, Pamela is at fault for daring to insult the Religion of Peace™ and slandering the Prophet. Why doesn’t she understand free speech must be state and Party approved? Why does Pamela go on antagonizing Muslims? Doesn’t she know that some psychopaths art critics might be offended by her irresponsible actions?

For anyone who still doesn’t understand the groupthink and doublethink, Communist News Network (CNN) Comrade Camerota explains in detail why Pamela’s horrendous actions should not have been performed. Perhaps it is time for the evil, imperialist, cis-gendered, racist, bigoted, and capitalist Pamela Geller to be report to the nearest Kommissar for re-education.

How was your May Day comrade?

Greetings fellow comrades and toiling intellectuals, how did you May Day celebrations go? Did your International Workers’ Day celebrations include arson re-decorating, rioting peaceful protest, and looting the redistribution of property like May Day celebrations in Oakland? Did you convince shop owners, businessmen, and neo-Kulaks to stop making so much profit and be more generous to the proletariat? Are you concerned enough about the revolution and devoted to the Party like so many in Seattle? Many of our revolutionary brothers were courageous enough to take the fight to the enemy and pelt officers of the Seattle Police Department with rocks, sticks, and wrenches thus dealing many stinging blows. Are you dedicated comrade?

A valiant Hero of Socialist Labor, a true People's Hero liberating property from the bourgeois elements.

Look at the good work our fellow revolutionaries in Seattle are performing. Surely, many jobs will be created from all the smashed windows and other damaged property.

Typical, unwarranted police oppression against our fellow comrades.
Typical, unwarranted police oppression against our fellow comrades.

There were also many proles picketing for higher wages and change in a much less deliberate fashion. Many of them were decrying that people working at low-level retail and food-service jobs aren’t earning $15/hr while CEO’s (greedy bastards) are earning much larger sums of money. Other members of the proletariat were protesting against capitalism and making progress in general. The individuals who engaged in such activities are moving in the right direction, but are simply not dedicated enough. Their weak liberalism and soft communism may have to be cured with strong communism. Once the revolution is complete, a purge may be required to find those who are not dedicated enough.

Look, even Jesus demands that a $15/hr minimum wage be instituted!

Minimizing profit generation is a good start, but these comrades are not dedicated enough to the cause.
Minimizing profit generation is a good start, but these comrades are not dedicated enough to the cause.

Over in the Workers’ Paradise of Cuba, Dear Leader President Maduro and the Anointed One President Raul Castro celebrated the Party and revolution. Many thousands of loyal Party members marched in support of President Castro. Indeed, the May Day rally in Havana was a beautiful sight to behold. The head of the Cuban Workers’ Union vowed to oppose all destabilizing actions and any other activities that would violate Constitutional order. Indeed, any reports of sky-rocketing inflation, high default risks, a lack of basic goods, and oppression by the People’s Government in Venezuela are patently false and made up by Western, capitalist pigs.

Just look at these glorious Communist leaders. Raul Castro is looking especially vigorous.

Look at how happy these proles and future soldiers in the People's Army are!
Look at how happy these proles and future soldiers in the People’s Army are!

For those of you living in oppressive, imperialist, and capitalist countries still, don’t get to despondent. The glorious purge revolution will come soon enough. Try not to be too uppity if your family, friends and neighbors aren’t ready to join you in the glorious revolution. For anyone who needs some consolation and advice for those post May Day blues, report to the People’s Cube for re-education. Remember comrades, don’t forget to post any comments you may have. As always, ensure that you don’t commit any thoughcrime or act like a Kulak in need of liquidation.

A liberals first time…

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to watch anti-gun liberals shoot guns for the first time in their lives? Wonder now more and behold, five progressives in the following video having their first taste of using a firearm. The individuals have a variety of interesting reactions to shooting a handgun and a shotgun. Most of them still have negative views on guns of course and one of them was even “disgusted” by any feelings of exhilaration felt. I suppose that almost anyone could be taught to use a gun, or at least not point it towards the instructor. Here’s the show that you’ve all been patiently awaiting:

Union accident prevention posters

One of the more interesting people’s tools to spread the good word on Unions are some accident prevention posters that I found on the People’s Cube. Such posters are quite useful in convincing people that Unions are all about helping workers and not payouts for the leaders. As we all know, Unions are the epitome of virtue, justice, humility, and generosity. They would never resort to arson, killing “scabs”, or other intimidation tactics to “help” workers.

Here are some of the original Soviet accident prevention posters:

Progressives and their undying hatred of the Koch brothers

One of the many things that I’ve read about recently (constantly) on progressive websites is how the Koch brothers are doing things like: buying politicians, donating more money than anyone else, destroying the Earth, push propaganda, and just like doing generally evil things. Like some of the tolerant progressives I’ve talked with you’ll ask for them to be thrown in jail (though they’ve been convicted of nothing) or even demand their painful, agonizing death in a pot of boiling water. Those who seem to disapprove of (or hate) the Koch brothers will use cartoons such as the following:

Kochtopus Koch Brothers aka Kochsucker Koch-Brothers-2

If you’re the folks at the Blue Nation Review, you’ll make the unfounded claim that the Koch brothers have spent the most to pollute our environment. Here’s a sampling of the discussions I’ve had with progressives on Blue Nation Review’s Facebook page:

The beginning…

“Hours” of studying and discussion…

KDS2

It’s not the money that matters, just what they believe in…

KDS1

Calling for the brutal execution of the Koch brothers, no less on the same page that’s decrying Utah for going to a quick and painless death by firing squad for convicted murderers.

KDS

Before I post up some pictures with opposing views, let’s take a good look at the claims progressives are making. During the 2014 election cycle, the Koch brothers donated about $14 million. They were not the biggest donors though. The Koch brothers were beat out by Tom Steyer ($74 million) and Michael Bloomberg ($28 million). If we take a look at the top  organizations that donated for the 2014 election, they all went overwhelmingly to the Democratic Party. I think it’s pretty clear that the Democratic Party won out in raising money last election, even though it didn’t help them out much. Any claims that the Koch brothers donated the most are simply unfounded. Even if they were, it’s very clear that plenty of progressives/socialists/communists are donating a lot of cash.

It’s always funny when progressives castigate the Koch brothers for destroying the planet or some silly nonsense. Have all of the progressive environmentalists given up their cars? Even if they don’t use a gasoline/diesel powered car, it’s probably charged by electricity from fossil fuels, uses several toxic elements in battery cells that don’t have high storage capacity/energy density (unless you pay $10,000 extra for hundreds of pounds of extra cells), and don’t last past a few thousand deep cycles . Perhaps they all use dirt roads that use no petroleum products? Forty percent of U.S. electricity is generated by coal, do progressives still use electricity? Almost all plastics are made from petrochemicals, perhaps they aren’t using any of those either? I suppose if that if progressives stop using plastics they couldn’t denounce capitalism on Facebook and Twitter with their IPhones.

If we take a look at Tom Steyer, it becomes apparent that he made money off of the coal industry. He’s also claiming to be an environmentalist now. If you’re a progressive though, you’ll claim that Tom Steyer isn’t a hypocrite because Republicans are criticizing him and that he’s divested from coal. Farallon Capital Management, the hedge fund founded by Tom Steyer, is still involved in coal mining and Steyer is still a passive investor. I suppose that Mr. Steyer was such an environmentalist, he just kept pushing coal projects in Indonesia and Australia until it would make him look like a hypocrite. I guess that as long as Mr. Steyer is giving money, progressives don’t generally care right? Only those evil RethugliKKKans and selfish Losertarians shouldn’t give money. That’s the impression I got from the progressives who commented on the Blue Nation Review Facebook page anyway. Concerning “environmental destruction”, I don’t see how they’re doing anything special.

Below are some pictures opposing what the progressives seem to believe in:

Unions are people, but corporations aren’t?!

koch_brothers_vs_labor_unions_by_blamethe1st-d4a8zfv

But, but progressives also give money. It’s also interesting how the progressive posters and pictures say democracy when republic would be more accurate. I’m just nitpicking I suppose.

automotivator_soros1

If progressives want to continue their hatred and death threats for the Koch brothers, I’ll just sit back and laugh. If nothing else the Facebook conversations with progressives will bring plenty of joy and laughter to my soul. And for all of the idiot middle class socialists, occutards, and other borjouis elements who think that they’re part of the proletariat, I have a good picture for you below. Such individuals may not know much about the NKVD, Stalin’s Purges, the Great Leap Forward, or the Cultural Revolution, but they will suffer the same fate if they get what the revolution they so desire.
