Look at all that President Obama has accomplished

Good evening comrades, today’s post will go over all the wonderful deeds and accomplishments that President Obama has achieved for the United Socialist States of America. Our current piece of pictorial propaganda comes from the fine folks at Occupy Communists Democrats:

When looking at the Unemployment rate, please don’t take into account that the Labor Force Participation Rate has also dropped. Like all good Party members, the folks at Occupy Communists don’t properly represent the data (or cite their sources). Taking a quick look at some Bureau of Labor Statistics data puts some insight into how the Unemployment Rate has dropped.

I thought that proud progressive like the ones at Time Magazine claimed that President Obama had nothing to do with gasoline prices and oil imports? But of course, those evil oil companies drilling for oil in the U.S. must be because President Obama demanded it. Didn’t Obama Administration officials want gas prices to go up to $10 per gallon like it is in Europe to force proles citizens to give up their cars? I also thought that President Obama recently rejected the Keystone XL pipeline citing “national interest” as his reasoning? I guess that we’ll keep using trains and oil tankers to import oil that we are using from Canada. Makes total sense and is much safer than using a pipeline…

The teen pregnancy statistic is really interesting and insightful. President Obama is most certainly responsible for ensuring that teenagers have less sex and/or use birth control more often. Don’t look at the Health and Human Services Department’s description of the data though:

“In 2013, there were 26.5 births for every 1,000 adolescent females ages 15-19, or 273,105 babies born to females in this age group.[1] Nearly eighty-nine percent of these births occurred outside of marriage.[1] The 2013 teen birth rate indicates a  decline of ten percent from 2012 when the birth rate was 29.4 per 1,000.[1] The teen birth rate has declined almost continuously over the past 20 years. In 1991, the U.S. teen birth rate was 61.8 births for every 1,000 adolescent females, compared with 26.5 births for every 1,000 adolescent females in 2013. Still, the U.S. teen birth rate is higher than that of many other developed countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom.[2]” (emphasis added)

If you look down the article a little further you see that it’s Southern states that have the highest teen pregnancy rates. But before comrades use this as evidence that the dumb, gun and religion clinging, xenophobic, KKKonservatives and Rethuglicans are hypocrites let’s take a look at some state data. In this case, I’ll use Texas.

Of all teen pregnancies in Texas, only 21% are from Non-Hispanic, White mothers. I know that I don’t have to look this statistic up, but more than 21% of Texas is made up of those evil white people.

The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action surely is a great diplomatic achievement courtesy of John Kerry. Just as Iran honored the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty they will also another piece of paper in which provisions expire after ten to fifteen years anyway. Do not look at how Iran’s Uranium stockpile continues to grow. You should also ignore how Iran is testing ICBM’s in violation of a U.N. treaty that they are already party to. To quote Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehqan, Iran’s Defense Minister:

“To follow our defense programs, we don’t ask permission from anyone,”

I think that such language is pretty clear, but when you’re a proud progressive words mean whatever you want them to. I suppose that all of those “Death to America” chants are also just meant for domestic consumption and have no real meaning.

The GDP growth only goes over a single quarter of the Obama Administration and ignore all the others. It’s amazing what you can do with numbers when you ignore all the ones that are inconvenient. According to the Bureau of Economic Analysis U.S. GDP growth has been low or negative for many quarters during President Obama’s tenure, but reading that data is thoughtcrime.  Any reports that Obama Administration GDP growth estimates have been way too high are also completely and totally false. Flag your own lying eyes. It’s amazing what you can do with some Common Core math.

Concerning the Dow Jones Industrial Average, since when did followers of the Church of Socialism want the wretched “1%” and big corporations to make a bunch of money? I mean the Dow Jones represents just 30 of those evil and large corporations and not the “working class” right? I suppose that the Federal Reserve using trillions in quantitative easing to inflate the economy counts as real growth right? What the Federal Reserve is doing is totally different from what Zimbabwe did to itself. It’s really interesting to look at Federal Reserve Monetary Policy Reports to get an idea of whether there has been real economic growth or not.

Keynesians don’t always spend your money…

Though when Keynesians do spend your money, kiss it all goodbye. Today’s post is dedicated to the glory of John Manyard Keynes’ economic beliefs. Once this capitalism thing is destroyed we will all be able to live in Utopia.

I know that I’ve already covered how People’s Economist Paul Krugman things that massive debt spending and war are good for the economy, but let’s cover that point from something other than his space alien invasion idea, shall we?

Here are some of Krugman’s thoughts about the effects 9/11 would have on the economy:

Then there’s this interesting tidbit from John Manyard Keynes himself as written in The Economic Consequences of Peace. This quote starts on page 235:

European socialism and automotive expertise

Progressives just love to talk about how socialism in the Nordic countries is successful and seem to like the policies enforced in Continental Europe. But when the government gives out something for free, is it really free? Did countries like Norway, Sweden, and Denmark create a classless utopia and Worker’s Paradise? Let’s look at some data compiled by an individual who came from Denmark and has firsthand experience from Democratic-Socialism which is supposedly different than Socialism. It’s amazing that progressives will claim that Socialism is different from Democratic-Socialism.

Greece said no to the E.U.

Well the Greek referendum is over with and the Greeks voted with a resounding no (61%) on accepting bailout terms. Plenty of European leaders may say that they believe in the Euro and want Greece to stay in the European Union. The opinion polls that showed the Greeks at a dead heat which each other appear to have been quite wrong. The Greek banks don’t exactly have a lot of cash anymore so the drachma will have to make a reappearance pretty soon.There are no laws written on how a member state would leave the E.U. so now might be a good time for the bureaucrats in Brussels to figure something out.

The United Kingdom will be holding a referendum on E.U. membership by 2017. 260,000 Austrians signed a petition that will force the Austrian government to debate the topic of leaving the E.U. in parliament. The most recent E.U. elections went very well for Eurosceptic parties and the trend doesn’t seem to be bending towards those who believe in the Euro and the European Union as it currently stands.

I don’t see how the Greeks can possibly maintain their current budgets and spending levels. I also don’t see how the people of Europe are willing to give up control of their currencies, much of their economies, and sovereignty to a body like the European Union. The intellectuals who believed and pushed for the Euro seemed to believe that a monetary union would bring political unification. Quite the opposite has happened though. Political differences and demands by different nations that don’t have a real Federal government or other institutions to bind them together are destroying the idea of European integration. Even space cadet Paul Krugman realizes that the Euro is a flawed idea.

More socialist failures, Greece and Venezuela edition!

By now many of you have heard about the Communist government that was elected in Greece and the “promise” to do away with bailout problems. An agreement for a four month extension of debt payments was granted to Greece by the Euro zone and IMF creditors. It’s really amazing that the Greeks were desperate enough to believe that Syriza would be able to fulfil all guarantees made during the election and still keep the welfare state. I don’t believe in the Euro zone but a government that has no money and is asking for massive debts to be forgiven doesn’t really have many options available. Those that voted and believe that Greece can keep its welfare state, keep the Euro, and not pay back any loans could use a reality check.

What do those of you reading this think the odds are of Syriza keeping its promises, avoid a default, or keep the Euro? I personally believe that it’s time for Greeks to give up on the Euro experiment and regain some sovereignty. I suppose that almost thirty years of socialism with the Panhellenic Socialist Party just wasn’t enough for the Greeks.

   The other socialist failure that I’ll mention with this post concerns Venezuela, a country that exports essentially nothing except for oil. Now that those prices have collapsed all of the welfare programs provided by the state, massive expansion of the public sector, price controls, and other factors have caused the Venezuelan economy to enter a tail-spin. The country can’t supply basic goods to its citizens, constitutionally mandated healthcare isn’t provided, the country is near default, and inflation is over 60%. As should be expected, Nicolas Maduro is blaming capitalists, the CIA, and the United States. I suppose that progressives are also OK with the rising oppression of the Venezuelan people, it is being performed by a socialist government after all. If nothing else they will probably not say much about what is happening, unless it’s to blame the Koch brothers or something of that nature. I’ll close this post out with one last picture.

Economic arguments with progressives

This may have been pointless, futile, and a waste of time, but I tried discussing economics with progressives. Also, on Facebook of all places. Obviously, nothing worthwhile came out of the discussions and I simply got called things like “STUPID TROLL” “ALEC dumbass”, RepubliKKKan, and the didn’t offer any real retort to my arguments. Remember, liberals care about anti-bullying campaigns, unless you disagree with them politically. If you’re a RepubliKKKan, KKKonservative, Losertarian, or other non-leftist your opinion doesn’t count. Just ignore the failure of: the former Soviet Union, nations of the former Warsaw Pact, Venezuela, Cuba (but just look at those high literacy rates), Zimbabwe, North Korea, Detroit, the National Socialist Workers’ Party of Germany, Greece, and Spain.

If you’re a socialist like the people over at the Mother Jones magazine you’ll say things like “Kochtopia” and that “Kansas is screwed”. Don’t actually look at any economic performance data or the low unemployment rates. Don’t you dare actually read into how different states are doing. If you’re a liberal, you’ll ignore the economic performance of a state like Texas. You’ll also point out how Kansas had its credit rating downgraded while Illinois has had the same thing happen to it nine times. I didn’t realize that progressives cared about budget deficits or debt? Funny thing is, I thought that a city such as Detroit would fit that description better, but that must be the fault of capitalism right? Liberals had nothing to do with it at all.

For anyone who’s interested in getting a good laugh out of my economic discussions with progressives, here you go. Always remember, just turn your brain off when you debate economics with leftists. You’ll lose too many brain cells otherwise.

The leftist Syriza party has just won the Greek elections with between 35.5 and 39.5% of the vote. The man who will likely become Greece’s new Prime Minister quipped of the victory “The Greek people have given a clear, indisputable mandate for Greece to leave behind austerity.” Because if anything is worth trying again after years of failure, that would be more socialism. I suppose that when the Panhellenic Socialist Party (PASOK) was in control that they just didn’t do socialism correctly. One way or another, these guys will get it right. It’s funny how the left always says “austerity” whenever someone else says that perhaps the budget should be balanced once in a while. As we all know, living within your means is for losers. Just raise taxes and you’ll get all the money you need right? Just keep promising “free” stuff and the voters will put you in power apparently.

Moving onto the Eurozone as a whole, who wants to take bets on who will leave the E.U. and when? The Germans are certainly preparing themselves for such an event. Anyway, I still think it doesn’t make sense for sovereign countries to share a single currency. In light of events such as the Greek election, why should countries with different desires, ideas, and goals all be forced into some sort of supranational state? The whole Euro project was never a great idea to begin with.

Now remember comrades, the failures of: the former Soviet Union, states of the former Warsaw Pact, Venezuela (lack of basic goods and near default), National Socialist Workers’ Party of Germany, Detroit, Argentina (two defaults in thirteen years), Cuba (but people still tout the literacy rate), North Korea and Zimbabwe (intermittent 1000% interest rates) all mean nothing. Just give socialism another hundred years, maybe it’ll work itself out by then.

Look, free community college! That’ll be $60 billion (and then some)

The President recently announced his intentions to make community colleges free for at least the first two years of attendance. When he says free, he means sixty billion (or more) with some unspecified amount of money to be paid by the states. There’s you’re government at work, taking your money and giving it back. If you thought the the current Federal college student debt of over one trillion wasn’t enough, you’re obviously wrong, very wrong. For those of you who who thought that government policies such as the ACA would make healthcare cheaper and with lower deductibles, this is obviously the right path and a godsend. As we all know, when the government says something is will be free or cheaper than before that is must be completely true.

I guess that all of the student die-ins, protests, screaming, and complaining about debt have finally made people pay attention to them. It’s not like they were studying or working anyway. Obviously, all of the protesting students are enlsaved. It turns out a large portion of college students don’t even realize that they’re in debt according to an article from The Guardian. Just think, these “adults” are smart enough to go to college yet: can’t read a contract, have no idea what they signed, don’t bother to look for cheaper colleges, don’t understand the concept of credit, don’t have self-control over spending, or seem to understand that they’re responsible for the debt that they get themselves into. Perhaps dumping one-hundred thousand dollars you don’t have into a humanities degree isn’t a great idea? Clearly, their debt needs to be forgiven, subsidized, and the college debt bubble needs to grow even bigger. What’s a little more debt in the grand scheme of things? Perhaps the “populist” Elizabeth Warren could give back some of her exorbitant salary she earned while teaching at Harvard and decrying the expense of higher education? Do leftists not see the irony in supporting the rich while railing against them? It’s OK to be rich when you vote left I guess. When Elizabeth Warren says that she’s not wealthy, she really means it! Just don’t ask her how much money she has, got it? (EDIT: Read an interesting perspective from Powerline on how the free college proposal may put a cap on prices and send some of the President’s core constituency screaming.)

The leftist solution for the economy: war, massive debt spending, and aliens

So the videos that I’m posting of Paul Krugman are nothing new, they’ve been around for some years now. But because of the economic message many leftists/socialists continue to spread this warrants some repeating. The first video of Paul Krugman was aired back in August of 2011 on CNN. In the video Krugman argues that since stimulus debt spending isn’t up to his liking that an alien invasion should be staged to make for for a rapid rise in military spending by the Federal government to fix the ailing economy. Because if there’s one thing that the Federal Government’s not doing enough of, it’s deficit spending.  Remember folks, Paul Krugman received the Nobel Peace Prize for Economics in 2008. National debt, never heard of that stupid thing! Raise taxes for the wealthiest to 70% like during the Carter years, or 90% during FDR’s time, awesome solution! That would do nothing whatsoever to hurt business competitiveness or convince the rich, especially leftists to move their wealth away right? Because if there’s anything that helps businesses out, it’s higher operating costs and taxes right? And when the dust has settled, the alien ruse is revealed, and the economy is most certainly in great shape we’ll all be able to say: “Thank you Mr. Krugman, your genius surely knows no bounds. Let me kiss your feet and be generous by giving away even more of what I own”.

Isn’t ironic that people that are supposedly “anti-war”, especially ones that received a Nobel Peace Prize, call for a massive military buildup and war? In any case, enjoy yourself and get a good laugh at the Krugman explanation for fixing the economy. While you’re at it, why not let the whole world know how you feel about Paul Krugman in the poll at the end of this post?

German thoughts on the Energiewende and Green Energy

A lot of leftists/greens/socialists would have you believe that green energy is cheap, scalable, and with few downsides, so much so that they can’t ever shut up about it. They just love to cite Germany’s “Energiewende” as an example for all of us to follow, it’s almost as if climate change is their religion. Never mind that Germany’s own government has been forced to accept that the Renewable Energy Act (EEG) is a complete and total failure. Also forget that Germany is burning more coal than ever before, nuclear power is evil and green energy is obviously the only way.

Perhaps it’s all a part of the Green plan? If electricity prices go up enough then we’ll just stop using electricity right? We can all just give up our cars, stop using any electricity, become hunter-gatherers, and live in caves. While we’re doing that, all of the rich celebrity environmentalists will hear of our new found climate faith and fly out in their private jets to watch as we all bow down and worship the Goreacle. It’ll be a sight for the ages.

Let’s ask some Germans what they think about the GroKo. It’s really quite hilarious.

Remember, whenever governments say something is free or cheap it must be true right? You just have to become more generous.
