Thoughts on “The Predator” Final Trailer

What’s Hollywood up to today? How about another Predator film but this time I can’t even tell how I’m supposed to feel about it. The final trailer has rap music and almost makes the film feel like a comedy. It wasn’t enough for Fox to produce AVP and AVP Requiem, now it needs to feel like a slapstick with a bunch of comedic gags. So much for that feeling of horror and suspense, what we need is excessive CGI effects and constant jokes. Maybe they’ll just stop one of these days? I’ll watch this movie tomorrow anyway just to see if it turns out horrible or as a decent film.

I mean, it can’t be worse than Slenderman:

Fadi’an Point and One Thousand Steps Trail

 

The One Thousand Steps Trail is a short hike with a relatively quick elevation change that can easily be done in less than 30 minutes. Multiple areas along the trail have been filled in with concrete steps in the steepest sections but don’t trust the associated handrails to support your weight. This is a hike that everyone who drops by the island should do. You don’t need to bring several liters of water, don’t have to deal with much mud, don’t need any special gear, and can fish at Fadi’an Point if the tides are right. Sella Bay Overlook and Trail

The hike to Sella Bay from the Overlook point is of moderate difficulty and can be done in less than three hours if you don’t stop for too long to take photos. It was raining when I started this hike and the soil and clay were extremely slick. Everything you wear will be soaked by the time you are done with this hike whether it rains or not (sweat, river water, seawater, rain, take your pick). It doesn’t take too long, the views are stunning, it’s not too trashed since there is some difficulty in getting there, and it’s not as dangerous as the Cetti Falls trail is.

I took photos on my way back to the trail head so all of them will start in the bay. I didn’t very many good photos from the top of the overlook on this day. Once the skies finally started to clear I just wanted to drain my boots of water and change out my socks (oh yeah, bring some extra socks). Route 6 (Nimitz Hill)

This posts just has a few videos of me driving up and down Nimitz Hill to get some breathtaking views of the center of the isle of Guam. In the first video I head from north to south and in the second video I have a good spot to pull off the road and really show off what you can observe. Enjoy!

Internet Insanity: Kurt Eichenwald (In two parts)

I’ve stumbled across two really amazing videos on a channel I just found a few days ago about what has to be the world’s most bizarre insane frothing unhinged weird bizarre interesting reporter to have lived in all of human history. I could try and summarize these two videos and the incidents surround Kurt Eichenwald but why even try? Where would I start? Would I talk about his glorious interview on Tucker Carlson Tonight about a Tweet of his claiming that President Trump was checked into a mental hospital was “a signal to a source”? How about the time he paid thousands of dollars to a source of his who was a child involved in porn? How about posting up a photo on Twitter that inadvertently illustrated his use of hentai to show his wife that tentacle porn exists? The story of how Kurt Eichenwald obliterated his own career and utterly fell apart is simply amazing. Really, you have to watch both of these videos.

 

For a guy who uses Twitter so much it’s interesting that he now wants to boycott it. Perhaps he’ll stop acting like such an idiot? No, he’ll just slip up again. Let’s look at some of his wonderful Twitter activity though:

Punished for what?

Oh boy, look at what this 10-year old boy was punished for. From ABC 13:

“TARBORO, North Carolina –Parents of a fifth grader are concerned after their child was punished for referring to his teacher as ‘ma’am.’“
and
“He says his teacher told him to write the word on the sheet because he kept referring to her as ‘ma’am’ despite her instruction not to. As part of his punishment, Tamarion had to have the paper signed by a parent.“
Of course the name of the teacher isn’t listed and at least the school was courteous enough to allow the student to switch teachers. I really can’t help but wonder what the teacher wanted to be called? Miss Doe or ma’am weren’t acceptable?

Southern Island Drive

Good evening everybody, all I have for today are some videos showcasing the southern half of the isle of Guam as the Sun was setting. It really is a wonderful drive and I might have to try it on my bicycle at some point before I leave. Editing and uploading all of these videos in 1080p resolution reminded me why I switched to dealing with 720p videos though; the files just get so large. Anyway, I hope that you enjoy this virtual tour!

Good evening everybody, I don’t have much to say in this post and just felt like using some photos and video to show how cleaning up this particular road has gone. Working during the day is miserable and the sweat never stops (nor does the illegal dumping here). At least the jungle will take some time to grow back once I push it off the road.
