Mattel Inc. recently spent an extravagant amount of money on countless focus groups and sensitivity meetings to finally bring the customer a doll that won’t offend anyone whatsoever, the Asian-American Doll. Mattel expended quite a sum of money and effort to ensure that your daughter (or son if he’s into that) won’t find anything that hurts their feelings or reinforces any stereotypes but, much more importantly social justice warriors (SJW) won’t find anyreason to get offended either. For as we all know, if anyone’s going to be offended it will be a leftist and they will sue and protest against until all opposition is silenced. Hell, even in films for adults the only people you can insult, poke fun at, or cast a bad light on in any way are Nazis. Even that last group may not be fair game for much longer, maybe liberals will start claiming we’re hurting their feelings too.
In any case, Mattel made sure that there’s nothing about Asian-American Doll that could offend anyone in any way whatsoever. If you don’t believe me, just watch the commercial and you too will see just how racially neutral and completely generic Asian American Doll is. Enjoy!
The anti-gun nuts on the left have put out a new anti-gun PSA that’s just full of good advice for your child. Obviously, it’s a great idea to take their parents’ gun, take it to school in their backpack, point it at their teacher, and then drop the gun on her desk. Such great advice from the anti-gun liberals. I wonder if the director of the video Rejina Sincic, counted how many felonies that the child would’ve performed in real life? I’m so glad that comments were allowed on the Youtube page for this video. As of this writing, 73 people gave the video a thumps up and 11,181 gave the video a thumbs down. Please keep the laughs coming Rejina Sincic, it’s really quite hilarious.
One thing I’ll never understand about liberals is how they say that they’re anti-authoritarian and cops shouldn’t be trusted, yet they still believe citizens shouldn’t be able to carry guns. I guess they always trust the government with weapons, and believe that people won’t kill without guns. Perhaps I just have gun fever. Venezuela seems to be getting worse and worse, Nicolas Maduro and his socialist government just keep failing. Among many of the recent problems to surface are a lack of doctors to provide state-mandated healthcare. To be fair though, even if the doctors and nurses stayed they wouldn’t have any medical supplies or basic items to treat patients anyway. Constitutionally and government enforced healthcare is a good thing and always means that you’ll be cared for right? The Venezuelan government isn’t even allowing people to pass through the border at night, something about smuggling and a shortage of basic staples. No leaving the country between 10 PM to 5AM for citizens, just stick it out and the 60% inflation rates will go down eventually.
Maybe one day Venezuela will dump socialism and expand their economy and exports past selling oil. Perhaps soon they’ll stop selling gasoline domestically at six cents per gallon. Speaking of prices, what’s a barrel of oil go for now, something under $58 by now. I wonder how much longer Maduro and his group of socialists will blame the U.S. for his problems? Venezuela’s problems started long before the U.S. considered sanctions against Venezuela. I wonder how much lower oil prices will go and how much longer Maduro’s government can take this?
A short time ago Senator Chuck Schumer lamented Obamacare and stated that Democrats focused on the wrong problem. It seems that Schumer now sees the light on Obamacare or much more likely, he’s worried about the next election and is doing everything he can to distance himself from the President. Unlike Mary Landrieu, it seems that Schumer has little interest in taking one for the team and is more worried about his own skin. Why not, it’s not like he’ll get anything out of simply spewing the party line in his 2016 re-election. Nancy Pelosi had an interesting response: “We come here to do a job not keep a job“. Based upon the last election it really is an accurate assessment about keeping their jobs.
It seems that the Chinese will start construction of a canal through Nicaragua at the end of December. A Chinese business magnate by the name of Wang Jing and his Hong Kong Nicaragua Canal Development Investment Company (NKHD) made an agreement with Nicaragua in June 2013 to build a canal and actually seem to be getting ready to start construction now. Engineers are starting to show up and perform surveys, analyze the soil, and assess environmental impact although the Nicaraguan government already agreed to allow the NKHD to own the land for then next fifty years prior to making any assessments. Chinese contractors have gone to various peoples homes to determine property values, though aren’t required to pay any fair amount for their land. NKHD isn’t even required to actually finish the project nor can it be held responsible under the agreement for anything that goes wrong. The agreement was authorized under legislation that was rushed through the legislature in seven days and no public input for the law occurred. The Nicaraguan Constitution was recently re-written just to allow the agreement and legislation for the canal to pass.
Many Nicaraguans are opposing the plans to build the canal with many of President Ortega’s former supporters and former revolutionaries claiming they are ready to fight the army and police. I find it hard to blame them, they didn’t really have much say in the matter and if anything goes wrong or the canal ends up not being profitable there’s really very little Nicaragua can do about it. I wonder what would happen if the canal is built yet unprofitable or if one of the two active volcanoes along the route goes a little too active? Maybe good ties with Communist China wasn’t such a great idea? What if enough people join the New Contras and actively fight against the government and NKHD? Only time will tell I guess…
The major political parties of Europe have beentaking a beating in recent elections from “far-right” parties andleaders. A lot of leftists/liberals/progressives/etc. just can’t seem tounderstand why and simply call the opposition racist, virulent, and anti-immigrant with no real economic policies. Considering that the PanHellenic Socialist Party ruled Greece almost continuously from 1982 to 2011, the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party ruled Spain from 1982 to 1996 and 2004 to 2011, the Socialist Party ruled Portugal from 1995-2002 and 2005-2011, and that these were some of the hardest hit countries by Europe’s economic failure for the last six years or so perhaps people are just tired of leftist failures? It really would be nice if leftists would stop blaming the “stupidity of voters”, resorting to calls of “racism” or “anti-immigration“, and saying that only the left offers any real economic policies. The left really shouldn’t be surprised that individual citizens want to have a say in how their own country functions without being beholden to a supranational federal state that is trying to bring twenty-eight nations together.
The “far-right” parties of Europe don’t agree on everything, it’s not as if they’re a single monolithic group of people. The United Kingdom Independence Party refused to align itself with the Front National(FN) while the Freedom Party of Holland (PVV) joined together with the FN. Such a position will probably only work to UKIP’s benefit. The FN believes in some leftist economic policies anyway, along with the PVV also shifting to the left despite both parties being branded “far-right”. The left can cry racism, anti-immigration, and virulent all they want, much of what UKIP stands for seems reasonable to me. Perhaps much of Europe’s ruling elite is just so far removed from individual citizens that they can’t understand why people would want something different. As for the FN and PVV, I’m not so certain. And really, how well has socialism done for other countries like Venezuela or Argentina?

Venezuela has been going downhill for a while now. With excessive inflation, an inability to supply basic goods and services, a lack of foreign currency, the looming threat of a default, extreme violence against any who dare question the government, and criminalization of any civilian-owned weapons perhaps it’s only a matter of time before Venezuela collapses. With massive oil reserves Venezuela is now importing oil. I guess socialism isn’t working out so well. I wonder how much longer Maduro will stay in power?
The United Kingdom has been considering the possibility of leaving the E.U. and will even be holding a referendum on this very idea soon. I’ve never thought it made sense to push over two dozen nations together in such a manner. It’s bound by a common currency, except for the U.K., yet has no common economic policy. Germany wants other nations to be more austere, a lackluster labor market, the threat of deflation, and a lack of any common economic policy are very dangerous for the E.U.. Continental Europe is bound by a common currency yet not bound to actually help other member countries out or have a common goal. There is no common defense policy amongst the various nations of the E.U.. Why shouldn’t the United Kingdom be able to control who enters their borders from other countries? Only time will tell if the E.U. can stay together, perhaps economic forces alone will pull it apart?
